Cold, wet and windy are three adjectives heard throughout most of the day’s brutal romp from Davis to Santa Rosa. Yet still, the fans were out in record numbers, patiently awaiting the arrival of that famous 7-time yellow jersey winner. Herewith – is our view from inside the Team fi’zi:k bus.
Needless to say, the Fly V Australia pb Successful Living squad have honored us with much gratitude, sheltered from the storm at the Stage starts and finishes.
It’s rough duty out there without a ‘home away from home’ – their affectionate reference, and unfortunately, today’s weather forecast calls for more of the same.
Of special note: cycling fans were treated to a special Antares ridin’ Dave Zabriskie moment at the morning sign in, when he grabbed the mike from Dave Towle and began belting out Creedance Clearwater Revival’s “Who’ll Stop the Rain”. Not a terribly bad rendition but he is probably still fortunate to have a day job.
